look what just arrived at notion headquarters today! the Pantone Essentials Set! high kicks.

we have a set but it’s a bit outdated and doesn’t include such novelties as CMYK, RGB and HTML builds. design nerd heaven.

who the *&%# is Pantone you ask?! Well, if you must know, the PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM is THE definitive international reference for selecting, specifying, matching and controlling colors. for more info on Pantone colors, read our color of the year blog post.

what does all that mean to you?! it means we as designers can use this language of formulas, for building colors for print and web, to effectively communicate to printers and web programmers exactly what colors we are trying to achieve in your print materials or on your website. it is a priceless tool for folks in our industry….and now we have a briefcase full of color, so there’s that.
